|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Thursday, repeating until December 17, 2020

Thursday Night Bicycle Ride

Every Thursday night we saddle up to explore the trails and gravel roads of Franklin County and Ottawa!  We meet at 6:00 pm and the ride starts promplty at 6:30 pm.

The route varies each week, but most routes are aound 17-miles.   Of course, our rides feature the Flint Hills Trail and/or the Prairie Spirit Trail State Parks.  We also explore the incredible gravel roads and hills that surround Ottawa.  We post our routes each week on our Facebook Page.

Everyone is welcome!  This is a no-drop ride and will stop along the way to re-form the group.  Every week we will also have a 10-mile route option for those just getting the hang of group riding.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will I be dropped?   No.  We try to keep the group together and will stop at turns to re-group.   We try to tailor each ride depending on the skill levels for the group.

What's the pace?  The pace varies each week and depends on the makeup of the group.  We may split up the group into a fast and slow group.

What type of bike do I need?  Most of our rides will include some rail-trail, gravel, and road.   On occasion, we will include a road-only route.

Do you cancel the ride for bad weather?  If the roads are safe to ride; we ride!  If it's not safe to ride we will cancel.  Check our Facebook page for the latest updates.

What other equipment do I need?   We require every rider to have a helmet.   Lights are required on night rides and recommended on daytime rides.
