We are thankful for our Ottawa Kansas small business community

In the four years we've been in business we've seen how difficult it is to keep a small business afloat. Sadly, we've recently lost several local businesses on Ottawa's Main Street. All small businesses have struggled and sacrificed just to get through the pandemic and most are not seeing the uptick they expected. We all continue to face strong headwinds.
Fortunately, we've also seen lots of new startup businesses on Main Street. We regularly have people stopping in our shop who are visiting Ottawa for the first time and hear positive comments about the friendly, small-town atmosphere and our unique and beautiful Main Street. We believe that it's the small business community that has the biggest impact on the people who visit our city.
We continue to believe that Ottawa's Main Street can be the centerpiece of the Flint Hills Trail and Prairie Spirit Trail State Parks. For this to be true, we need a strong and vibrant small business community to provide the unique flavor and atmosphere that people can't experience anywhere else. We also know that a strong small business community is good for all businesses. As they say, "a rising tide lifts all boats".
As Thanksgiving approaches we want to give thanks for all of the small businesses that make Ottawa special. We put together a list of those that we regularly do business with. We are regular customers of these businesses, work together on events or partner with them on products we sell in our store, and regularly recommend them to our friends and customers. As we put together this list we were surprised by how interconnected we all are.
As you start your Christmas shopping we hope that you'll consider supporting the local business community and shop local. We know that you'll get exceptional service and will be doing your part to help keep Ottawa strong.
